Sharon Beezley has always been busy. In addition to teaching children with special needs, Sharon fills her time with everything from do-it-yourself projects around the house to building houses with Habitat for Humanity. You can imagine the frustration and physical pain she felt when the pain in her shoulder began to interfere with her ability to put on a jacket or even get a good night’s sleep.

The decision to come to McBride Clinic has been a family affair. Both her husband and daughter have been patients here. Sharon chose to see Dr. McGinnis about her shoulder. She appreciated his approach to her care, having her try various treatments including non-surgical methods before deciding on surgery. However, together they came to the conclusion that surgery would be the path to get her back to her active day-to-day life.

Sharon’s father passed away shortly before her surgery was performed, which brought additional emotional strain. Her recovery has truly been a combination of physical and emotional healing.

She credits the physical therapy staff, especially her therapist Chris, with keeping her mentally focused on the healing process, while understanding the impact her personal loss had on the recovery process. Following her surgery, Sharon completed four months of physical therapy at the Downtown location.

In her eyes, the physical therapists are “professional and compassionate.” Sharon valued their help with her pain management. “I had knee surgery years ago elsewhere, and there was no physical therapy. They just sent you home.” The physical therapy staff at McBride explained how therapy could help with pain management and make the healing process easier. 

When asked if the procedure improved her quality of life, she answers “Oh my goodness, yes! I feel like I’m almost back to 100%.”

Sharon has been consistently impressed with the staff at McBride Clinic’s various locations. She was seen at the Downtown, Edmond and Norman clinics, in addition to her visits to the physical therapy clinic. “People were wonderful at EVERY location!
