MCBRIDE ORTHOPEDIC HOSPITAL IS RANKED #1 IN OKLAHOMA FOR OVERALL ORTHOPEDIC SERVICES AND JOINT REPLACEMENT
Award is based on study, which finds patients treated at five-star hospitals are 80% less likely to experience a major complication

Oklahoma City, OK–McBride Orthopedic Hospital has been ranked in the top 5% in the nation for overall orthopedic services and joint replacement by a new study released by HealthGrades, a leading independent healthcare ratings organization. The study evaluates objective patient outcomes in the nation’s 5,000 hospitals.
McBride Orthopedic Hospital received HealthGrades Specialty Excellence Awards for Orthopedic Surgery and Joint Replacement for 2010. This is the third consecutive year McBride has received the award fro Orthopedic Surgery. In addition, McBride received five star ratings for Total Hip Replacement, Total Knee Replacement and Hip Fracture Repair, Spine Surgery and Back and Neck Surgery.

The HealthGrades study, the largest annual report of its kind, analyzed patient outcomes in nearly 40 million Medicare hospitalization records from 5,000 hospitals over the years 2006, 2007 and 2008. The studied also shows that if all hospitals performed at a five-star level, more than 100,000 in-hospital orthopedic complication may have been avoided among Medicare patients over the past three years.
